A US Navy destroyer that sunk throughout World Warfare II has been found practically 7,000m beneath sea degree off the Philippines, making it the world’s deepest shipwreck ever positioned.

Divers discovered the shipwreck of the USS Destroyer Escort Samuel B Roberts (DE-413), also referred to as the Sammy B, at a depth of round 6,895 metres within the Philippines Sea on 22 June.
The ship was discovered cut up in half and lodged on a slope on the sea flooring. The photographs taken by the American group present the ship’s pilothouse and three-tube torpedo launcher.
Sammy B went down throughout a battle close to the central island of Samar on 25 October 1944, through which the US Navy defeated the Japanese fleet to interrupt occupation of the Philippines, which was then a US colony.
