Vans invited DJ Javier to design a brand new model of the Sk8-Hello prime, Slip-On VR3 SF footwear and Slide-On Sandals.
For the $105 Sk8-Hello prime, DJ Javier added the top of an orange and blue carabao — a water buffalo in Tagalog — with a golden nostril ring and eyes, snuggled in a mattress of orange-eyed skulls. The carabao is hanging, contrasted with the blue and white sample of the shoe. The carabao is a robust creature in Filipino tradition, symbolizing resilience and perseverance.
