SEN. Juan Miguel Zubiri has been faraway from the Senate slate of presidential candidate Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo and her operating mate Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.
The change was introduced by Robredo’s spokesman Barry Gutierrez in a press release issued on Wednesday.
“Sen[.] Migz Zubiri has been formally dropped from the Leni-Kiko Senate Slate”, Gutierrez stated.
“His open endorsement of one other presidential candidate, in contravention of the settlement with all visitor candidates, led to this resolution,” he stated.
“With 12 days remaining earlier than elections, we’re transferring ahead with our 11-candidate Senate slate,” he stated.
Presidential aspirant Sen. Panfilo Lacson and operating mate Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto third additionally dropped Zubiri from its senatorial line up for a similar purpose.
