The dying toll from landslides and floods within the Philippines has risen to 58 as rescuers dug up extra our bodies with their naked fingers in villages buried in rain-fuelled landslides.
Many of the deaths from tropical storm Megi – the strongest to hit the Southeast Asian archipelago this 12 months – have been within the central province of Leyte.
Not less than 47 individuals have been confirmed to have been killed and greater than 100 injured after waves of mud smashed into some six villages round Baybay Metropolis over the weekend, native authorities mentioned. Some 27 individuals stay lacking.
