Agriculture Secretary William Dar launched the P500 million-worth Gas Low cost for Farmers and Fisherfolk (FDFF) Program on the Subic Port in Zambales on March 21, 2022.
“Kayo po rito sa Subic at Zambales ay mapalad kasi dito po sa Luzon, dito natin ini-roll out, dito natin inumpisahan iyong pamimigay ng nationwide authorities ng gasoline low cost card sa certified na mga mangingisda at corn farmers,” Secretary Dar stated.
The FDFF Program of the Division of Agriculture (DA), created by the Basic Appropriations Act of 2022, goals to supply gasoline low cost vouchers to eligible farmers and fisherfolk who had been severely affected by the rising costs of gasoline.
This is among the nationwide authorities’s measures to mitigate the impression of the continuing world financial challenges compounded by the Ukraine disaster.
“Tayo sa pangingisda at pagsasaka, tuloy-tuloy po dapat nating itaguyod at hindi dapat mahinto ang pangingisda at pagsasaka, dahil ang bansa ay nangangailangan ng sapat na pagkain. Pwede nating ipakita na mayroon tayong sapat na produksyon para sa ganun ay meron ding sapat na pagkain ang bawat Pilipino,” Secretary Dar stated.
The DA targets to initially distribute the gasoline low cost playing cards value P3,000 every to a complete of 158,746 corn farmers and fisherfolk nationwide.
In Central Luzon, 2,255 corn farmers and 5,902 fisherfolk will profit from this system. The 8,157 program beneficiaries are corn farmers or fisherfolk who personal and function agricultural and fishery equipment individually or by a farmer group, cooperative, or affiliation.
For the distribution of gasoline low cost playing cards, the DA partnered with the Growth Financial institution of the Philippines, Division of Vitality, and the native authorities models, amongst others.
Secretary Dar clarified that rice farmers should not included within the FDFF Program, as a result of they’re already beneficiaries of the Rice Farmers Monetary Help (RFFA) Program with P5,000 direct money help.
In his message, the agri chief additionally introduced that the DA has kicked-off the implementation of the “Plant, Plant, Plant Program Half 2” to cushion the consequences of the worldwide crises whereas boosting native meals manufacturing.
