MANILA, Philippines —Rice farmers might be receiving monetary help beginning April to help them with their wants amid the hovering costs of gas, Agriculture Secretary William Dar mentioned Wednesday.
Underneath the Rice Farmers Monetary Help (RFFA), every farmer tilling 2 hectares or much less will obtain P5,000.
Apart from the RFFA, the Division of Agriculture may also present fertilizer subsidies.
“‘Yung Rice Farm (Farmers) Monetary Help might be given beginning April first week at ito ‘yung ayuda na tutulong sa mga pangangailangan din nila kasama na ‘yun ‘yung gas doon. Malaking tulong ‘yun,” Dar mentioned in a Laging Handa public briefing.
(The rice farm monetary help might be given beginning April first week and this may assist them with their wants together with gas. That might be an enormous assist.)
“Quantity two, magbibigay rin tayo ng (we may also give) fertilizer subsidy,” he added.
Dar mentioned that merchants have requested for gas subsidies as properly.
“Ang merchants nga kanina humihingi rin ng tulong ng gas subsidy kasi ‘yung monitoring, ‘yung logistics ng transporting their rice to, say, metropolitan areas ay talagang tumataas na,” he mentioned.
(Merchants earlier requested for gas subsidies as a result of the price of logistics of transporting their rice to metropolitan areas is growing.)
“So, we’ll submit one advice if we will have itong (this) logistics value in order that hindi po tataas ang presyuhan ng mga bilihin sa merkado (the worth of commodities is not going to improve out there),” continued Dar.
At the moment, native pump costs value P84 for diesel and P94 for gasoline.
