United Nations Safety Council members met for an emergency session on Friday to debate Russia’s assault on Zaporizhzhia nuclear energy plant in Ukraine.
Members known as on Russia to withdraw its troops from the plant to allow medical therapy for injured workers.
U.S. consultant Linda Thomas-Greenfield stated “Russia’s assault final evening put Europe’s largest nuclear energy at grave danger. It was extremely reckless and harmful, and it threatened the safety and security of civilians throughout Russia, Ukraine and Europe.”
The director-general of the Worldwide Atomic Power Company Rafael Mariano Grossi participated within the assembly.
He stated the company has confirmed no security or safety methods on the plant have been compromised, and that radiation ranges are inside regular.
Russian envoy Vasily Nebenzya denied the Ukrainian allegations and stated it’s a part of a “marketing campaign of lies and disinformation” towards Russia.
Members known as on Russia to drag its troops again and finish its aggression on Ukrainian territory.
