On Wednesday afternoon, International Information was on a Zoom name with Oleksandr Tretyak, mayor of the northwestern metropolis of Rivne in Ukraine, when air raid sirens started blaring.
“I’ve to flee to a bomb shelter,” Tretyak abruptly mentioned mid-interview from Rivne, a metropolis of 300,000 that’s about 4 hours west of Kyiv and near the border with Belarus.
After rapidly leaving his workplace, with laptop computer in hand, Tretyak continued the Zoom name from a bomb shelter, one thing he and residents are getting all too accustomed to.
The decision was about discussing the concept of Kelowna and Rivne changing into sister cities.
